The Igor Butman Jazz Club is a legendary concert venue and the epicenter of jazz in Moscow, boasting a distinguished 27-year history. For nearly three decades, the Club has been a dedicated champion of the art form, attracting jazz aficionados from across the globe and serving as a premier stage for the finest rising stars from Moscow and throughout Russia.

Consistently ranked among the world’s top jazz venues by DownBeat Magazine, this is the birthplace of the Igor Butman Orchestra, which later evolved into the world-renowned Moscow Jazz Orchestra. The Club has been the cradle of the modern Russian jazz scene, hosting icons of the genre such as Chick Corea, George Benson, Wynton Marsalis, Natalie Cole, and many other global superstars.

Our Story

The journey began in 1999 with the opening of Le Club at the Taganka Theater—Russia’s first world-class jazz venue. At the time, weekly performances by international jazz legends seemed like a distant dream, yet they quickly became our signature. Ogoniok magazine famously dubbed Igor Butman the «Moscow-New York-Moscow jazz bridge,» while Kommersant wrote in 2001:

«Securing a seat for many concerts is nearly impossible. This was evident during Al Di Meola’s recent run, where tickets sold out two weeks in advance, and even the city’s VIPs found themselves unable to get through the doors of Le Club.»

In 2007, Le Club was rebranded as the Igor Butman Jazz Club. The venue moved to Ulansky Lane in the Chistye Prudy district and expanded with a second location in Sokol in 2011. In 2014, the Club returned to its historic home at the Taganka Theater. Through every chapter, our core values remain unchanged: uncompromising artistic quality, regular performances by jazz masters, flagship festival projects, and, of course, our world-class resident musicians.

Dress Code

The Igor Butman Jazz Club observes a dress code to maintain our unique atmosphere. We reserve the right to refuse entry to guests in sportswear or beachwear. Please note that shorts are not permitted, including during the summer season.
